Simple Cranberry Sauce - cooking recipe

3/4 c water
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 12 oz bag cranberries
Preparation

The cooking time is for fresh berries-if using frozen berries, do not defrost before use; just add 2 minutes to simmering time. Bring water, sugar and salt to a boil in medium saucepan over high heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar.
Then stir in cranberries and return to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium, simmer until slightly thickened and about 2/3 of berries have popped open (about 5 minutes).
Transfer to bowl, cool to room temperature and serve.
(Let stand at room temperature 30 minutes before serving.) Makes 2 1/4 cups.
