Ma Davis' Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, unbeaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat at medium speed with electric mixer 2 1/2 minutes.
    Add flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Beat 3 1/2 minutes at medium speed.
    Do not overbeat or cake will fall.
    Place in greased and floured loaf pan, 10 x 5 x 3-inches.
    May overflow if pan is too small.
    Bake in slow oven preheated at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.
