Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers
    1 sliced bell pepper
    4 sliced onions
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    5 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
    5 c. vinegar (white)
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Cover the first 4 ingredients with ice water; let stand for 3 hours, then drain.
    Mix remaining ingredients and let boil.
    Pour over drained cucumbers and cook until heated well.
    Put in jars and seal.
