Peppermint Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    8 small pears with stems attached
    3 Tbsp. creme de menthe
    few drops green food coloring
    mint sprigs (to decorate)
Preparation
    In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water and lemon juice. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
    Peel pears, leaving stems attached.
    Cut base of each pear so that pear sits level. Using a small, pointed knife, carefully scoop out seeds from base, so pear remains whole.
