Braised Sirloin Tips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 lb. sirloin, cut into cubes
    1 can beef consomme
    1/3 c. Burgundy or cranberry juice
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp. onion salt
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Brown meat in melted shortening.
    Stir in consomme, wine or juice, soy sauce, garlic and onion salt.
    Heat to boiling.
    Simmer covered one hour until meat is tender.
    Serve over cooked rice.
