Chili Americain - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. cayenne red pepper (to taste)
1/2 tsp. chili powder (to taste)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (28 oz.) can Italian tomatoes with puree
2 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
Cheddar cheese (optional)
Preparation

Saute onion and green pepper in a little margarine; set aside. In same pan, brown ground beef, drain.
Add all ingredients except kidney beans to a large pot.
Slice the tomatoes as they are added to the pot.
Heat to boiling.
Reduce to simmer and cook, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
Stir in beans with some liquid and reheat until bubbly.
Serve with grated cheese on top.
