Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    few drops yellow food coloring
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients together, then gradually add sugar.
    Cook mixture until smooth and bubbly.
    Add salt, lemon juice and food coloring.
    Fix 6 to 7 pounds apples, peeled, cored and sliced. Pack into hot jars.
    Pour syrup over apples.
    Use knife to circulate to bottom of jar.
    Process in water bath for 20 minutes.
