Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. dark syrup
1 c. sour milk
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening very well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Add syrup.
Add flour and milk alternately, small amount at a time, and beating well after each addition. Bake 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
