Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stew meat
    1 large chopped onion
    1 can tomato sauce
    3 whole cloves
    6 medium potatoes, cubed
    1 stalk celery
    1 c. Burgundy wine
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 cans beef broth
    12 peppercorns
    3 bay leaves
    6 medium carrots, sliced
    small amount of oil (to saute meat)
Preparation
    Brown beef in oil.
    When thoroughly browned, saute garlic and onion until onion is translucent.
    Add beef broth, tomato sauce, peppercorns, cloves and bay leaves.
    Simmer until meat is tender. After simmering 1/2 hour, add wine and simmer for another half hour or until meat is tender.
    Then add the potatoes, carrots and celery.
    Cook until vegetables are tender.
