Stewed Tomatoes (Mom'S) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 cans peeled tomatoes
    6 pieces dry white bread
    1 c. onions, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Open cans of tomatoes and drain juice.
    Take tomatoes and squash with your hands to get more juice out.
    Saute onions in large frying pan then add tomatoes, salt and pepper and sugar; mix well.
    Tear pieces of bread and add to tomato mix.
    Stir well. Cook on simmer for several hours and stir often.
    Serve piping hot.
