Golden Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. cornmeal
1 c. plain flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
Add egg, milk and shortening. Mix until smooth. Pour into greased skillet. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
