Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. corn meal
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 small onion, chopped
salt to taste
1 egg
3/4 c. sweet milk
hot pepper (optional)
grated cheese (optional)

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix 1 egg and add to milk.
Add to dry ingredients and mix well.
Drop by teaspoon into hot oil. Fry until golden brown.
