Easy Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
pecan halves

Preparation

Mix together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Cook in microwave on full power for 15 minutes. Stir once during cooking.
While syrup cooks, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form in large bowl.
Gradually pour hot syrup over egg whites while beating at high speed until mixture is thickened and candy starts to lose its gloss.
Beating may require about 12 minutes.
Add vanilla to beaten mixture.
Drop by teaspoon on wax paper.
