Butterscotch Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk
    4 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. Crisco
    1 (9-inch) baked pie crust
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    4 1/2 Tbsp. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Separate eggs. Put egg yolks in a heavy pan. Add brown sugar, flour, milk, water, Crisco, salt and vanilla. Stir over low heat until thick. Let mixture cool slightly. Then pour into pie shell. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons sugar. Spread over pie, being careful to put the meringue all the way to the edge of the shell. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until browned.
