Fruit Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pecans, cut in pieces
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 stick oleo
    1 c. unsifted flour (self-rising)
    2 eggs
    1/2 lb. candied cherries (mixed red and green)
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple (red, white and green)
Preparation
    Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle nuts on bottom of pan.
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
    Add flour.
    Spread batter over nuts.
    The batter is thick but you can spread it with a spatula.
    Sprinkle the fruit over the top.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Cover with foil the last 15 minutes so it won't dry out.
