Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 egg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add beaten egg.
Add dry ingredients.
Add hot water last and beat until smooth.
Bake in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch shallow pan 35 minutes at 325\u00b0.
