Tomato Cheese Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large ripe tomatoes
    4 bread slices, trimmed and buttered
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. grated onion
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter generously a 9-inch ovenproof glass pie pan.
    Line the pan with the bread, buttered side down. Slice tops from tomatoes and place on bread.
    Sprinkle tomatoes with salt, pepper, sugar and grated onion.
    Cover with grated cheese.
    Beat eggs and milk together and pour over cheese.
    Bake for 1/2 hour.
