Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
    4 tsp. double-acting baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    3 eggs, unbeaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. black walnuts
Preparation
    Sift together first four ingredients.
    Add shortening and milk and beat 2 minutes (300 strokes).
    Add eggs and vanilla and beat 2 more minutes.
    Put in walnuts and bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375\u00b0 in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or three 9-inch layers.
    Cool and frost.
    All ingredients should be room temperature.
