1 c. cornmeal
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Beat with electric mixer until blended.
Pour into 9 x 9-inch greased cake pan and bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
