Mystery Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can fruit cocktail, drained
    2 c. flour
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 level tsp. soda
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat eggs; add drained fruit cocktail.
    Sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt.
    Add to egg mixture and mix well.
    Spread mixture in 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Over this, sprinkle brown sugar and pecans.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Top with Cool Whip and cherries.
