Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. scalded buttermilk
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Scald milk.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add milk which has been cooled to lukewarm. Add sugar, shortening and salt.
Add flour and soda which have been sifted together.
Mix well and let stand in bowl 10 minutes.
Place dough in greased pan and allow to rise 30 minutes. Roll out and cut into biscuits.
Brush with butter.
Bake in hot oven 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 24 biscuits.
