Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. split peas, washed
    6 c. water
    1 c. celery, diced
    1 c. carrot, diced
    1 onion, diced
    3 potatoes, diced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper (optional)
    1 c. diced ham (optional)
Preparation
    Wash split peas.
    Add to water, then add all of the ingredients.
    In crock-pot, cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
    On stove top, cook 2 hours or until peas are mushy.
    Use Braun hand blender to blend all ingredients together until creamy and smooth.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
