Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. flour or 1/4 c. cornstarch
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk, scalded
    3 slightly beaten egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked 9-inch pastry shell
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar and salt and gradually add hot milk.
    Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
    Cook 2 minutes; remove from heat.
    Add butter and vanilla; cool slightly.
    Pour into pastry shell.
    Cool.
    Cover with meringue made of egg whites and 6 tablespoons of sugar.
