Caramel Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
pinch salt
3 c. whipping cream
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans
Preparation

Butter sides and bottom of heavy saucepan with butter.
Add sugar and 1 cup cream.
Cook while stirring till soft ball stage (forms a ball when dripped in cup of cold water).
Slowly add second cup of cream as mixture boils and you stir.
Cook to soft ball stage again.
Slowly add the third cup of cream as you cook and stir.
Cook to soft ball stage again.
Add vanilla and nuts. Stir until it begins to thicken.
Pour in a buttered pan.
Cool and cut into squares.
