Ingredients

1 sheet frozen puff pastry (one half of 17 1/4 oz. pkg.), thawed
1 (16 oz.) can apple pie filling, partly drained
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 c. sliced, blanched almonds, toasted
1/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
Place pastry on lightly floured surface.
Using 9-inch cake pan as guide, cut 9-inch circle from pastry.
Cut scrap into decorative shapes for garnish, if desired. Place pastry and cutouts on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Remove to wire rack to cool.
