Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. (heaping) flour
1 Tbsp. (rounded) shortening
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
2 tsp. finely chopped parsley
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. red pepper
2 bay leaves
1/3 tsp. celery seed
salt to taste
2 lb. peeled shrimp
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation

Blend flour into melted shortening in heavy saucepan.
Add onions, garlic, green pepper and parsley.
Cook until light brown, stirring constantly.
Stir in tomatoes, thyme, red pepper, bay leaves, celery seed and salt.
Add shrimp.
Cook, covered, for 30 minutes.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
Cook for 30 minutes longer.
Remove bay leaves.
Serve over rice.
Yields 8 servings.
