Holiday Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs, separated
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 qt. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine egg yolks and sugar.
    Mix until thick and lemon colored.
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    Fold egg yolk mixture into egg whites.
    Stir in milk, vanilla and salt.
    Chill. Serve with whipped cream and grated nutmeg, if desired.
    Yields 13 1/2 cups.
