Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
8 Tbsp. butter or lard
1 c. buttermilk
12 Tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream butter or lard with sugar.
Mix plain flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa and soda.
Add to sugar mixture, mixing with milk and hot water.
After mixing batter, add vanilla.
Bake in round cake pans and frost with brown sugar frosting or caramel frosting.
