Dark Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    3 eggs
    1 box raisins
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. nuts
    2 c. applesauce
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 small container candied fruit
    20 oz. can crushed pineapple
    1 small bottle maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each addition.
    Add raisins and nuts to a small portion of the flour.
    Sift remaining flour together with soda, salt and spices.
    Add dry ingredients with vanilla, candied fruit, applesauce and crushed pineapple.
    Beat well.
    Fold in raisins and nuts; beat well.
    Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Top with cherries.
    Bake for 2 hours at 325\u00b0.
