Jambalaya-Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1/2 c. diced onion
    1/4 c. diced green pepper
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 1/3 c. Minute rice
    1 small bay leaf (dry)
Preparation
    Melt margarine in a skillet over medium heat.
    Add onion, green pepper and ground beef.
    Cook, stirring often, until meat is browned.
    Spoon off excess fat.
    Drain tomatoes, measuring juice. Add water to juice to make 1 1/2 cups.
    Add the liquid, tomatoes, salt, sugar, thyme and bay leaf to ground beef mixture.
