Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/3 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and egg all at once; stir only until dough follows fork around bowl.
    Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead gently 1/2 minute.
    Pat or roll 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut with biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
