Guacamole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 ripe avocados
    1 ripe tomato
    1/2 onion, finely chopped
    1 tsp. oregano
    juice from 1/2 lemon
    salt to taste
    1 jalapeno, chopped (fresh or canned; optional)
Preparation
    Mash avocados to paste with a fork.
    Add chopped tomato to avocado paste.
    Stir in onion, oregano and lemon juice until thoroughly blended.
    Add salt to taste.
    Refrigerate sauce, covered, for about 30 minutes before serving.
    Makes 4 cups.
