Marshmallow Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. large marshmallows
    1/2 c. milk
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. red gelatin
    1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping, thawed
    1 large can fruit cocktail, well drained
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in 3 cups of hot water.
    Put in shallow pan in refrigerator to set.
    When gelatin is set, melt marshmallows in milk in top of double boiler.
    Cool.
    Dice gelatin and put in a large bowl with fruit cocktail and nuts.
    Add whipped topping and marshmallow mixture.
    Stir until well blended.
    Place in refrigerator and cool for several hours before serving.
