Ingredients

1 gal. peppers
boiling water
2 c. vinegar
2 c. water
4 Tbsp. cooking oil
2 tsp. canning salt
1/2 tsp. canning salt
1 tsp. cooking oil
Preparation

Wash peppers; slice in thick slices or leave whole, making holes in each pepper with toothpick or ice pick.
Cover peppers with boiling water.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Mix vinegar, water, cooking oil and salt.
Bring to a boil.
Drain water off peppers and pack in jars.
Add the other salt and cooking oil to each jar and seal.
Makes very good peppers and pepper sauce.
