Spiced Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can peach halves
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    6-inch stick cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. whole cloves
    1/4 c. brandy (optional)
Preparation
    Drain peach halves; reserve syrup.
    Set peaches aside.
    In small saucepan, combine reserved peach syrup, sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and cloves.
    Simmer syrup mixture, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
    Add peaches and heat through only.
    Cool; stir in brandy, if using.
    Store peaches in covered container in refrigerator at least 48 hours before serving.
