Real Mincemeat - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. ground beef
    3 medium cooking apples, peeled and finely chopped
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. seedless raisins
    1/2 c. apple juice or cider
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. grape juice
Preparation
    In a large pan over medium high heat, heat to boiling all ingredients except grape juice and pastry; stir occasionally. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
    You may substitute apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice for all spices listed.
    If you think the mixture will be too thin, mix apple and grape juice to make 1/2 cup, if too thick, add 1/4 cup of the two juices mixed.
    Makes 1 pie.
