Grandpa Reda'S Italian Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion
    2 dashes minced or powdered garlic
    1 tsp. sweet basil
    1 tsp. parsley
    1 large bay leaf (or 2 small ones)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (29 oz.) large can Hunt's tomato sauce
    2 (12 oz.) cans Contadina tomato paste
    2 cans water
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Simmer onion in oil (can use olive oil) until tender, then add garlic.
    Empty contents of tomato sauce and tomato paste.
    After you empty the tomato paste fill each can with water and add to sauce.
    Stir to dissolve and then if it is too thick, add another 3/4 can of water.
    After sauce (sugo) is mixed, add remaining ingredients, basil, parsley, bay leaf, sugar and pepper.
    Simmer approximately 2 hours.
