Dad'S Sweet Pepper Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 red sweet peppers
    1 green pepper
    4 onions
    2/3 c. vinegar
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Remove seeds and chop peppers or grind them through a food grinder.
    Soak in brine for 2 or 3 hours or longer.
    Drain, then add onions chopped or ground in a similar manner.
    Cover with boiling water and let stand 5 minutes.
    Drain; add vinegar, salt and sugar.
    It is improved by the use of pickle spices heated in the bag with the vinegar and by horseradish, either ground or in pieces.
    Boil 2 minutes.
    Pack in sterile jars and seal.
