Baked Lemon Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, separated
    2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. lemon juice
Preparation
    Sift 1 cup sugar with flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat egg yolks until light, add lemon juice, rind, butter and milk and beat well.
    Stir in flour mixture and beat until smooth.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, adding remaining sugar (1/2 cup), one tablespoon at a time, then fold into mixture. Pour into buttered 2-quart baking dish.
    Set in a pan containing hot water, 1/2 inch deep, and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Chill.
    If desired, spread with whipped cream.
