Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. split peas (1 pkg.)
    4 c. water
    4 c. chicken stock (broth)
    2 medium onions, chopped
    3 stalks celery, chopped
    1 lb. ham or sausage, cut up large
Preparation
    Combine ingredients.
    Season mixture with pepper.
    Simmer, covered, over low heat, for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
