Lorie'S Chocolate Special Birthday Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation

Sift flour, baking soda and salt, twice.
Mix buttermilk, cocoa and water into paste in cup.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and beat after each.
Add flour and buttermilk alternately.
Add vanilla and chocolate paste; beat well.
Pour into two well greased and floured pans (or place wax paper in bottom of pans and grease and flour sides of pans).
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Test with toothpick.\tIce cake with Chocolate Peanut Butter Icing.
