Sausage Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 1 1/2 lb. sausage
    sliced carrots
    quartered potatoes
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1 onion, chopped
    salt and pepper
    butter
    water
Preparation
    Brown sausage in butter.
    Add onion and tomatoes.
    Let simmer on low for just a little while.
    Add water and potatoes and carrots.
    Salt and pepper to taste and cook until vegetables are done.
    Serve over rice.
