Mama'S Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium size sweet potatoes
    1 stick butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    cinnamon
    lemon juice
Preparation
    Peel
    potatoes, then wash and dry them.
    Slice potatoes thick, about 1/4-inch, longwise.
    Sprinkle with lemon juice so they don't
    turn
    dark.\tPut
    butter
    in heavy skillet.\tMelt until just hot.
    Turn heat on low or medium-low (according to stove;
    I use low).
    Turn frequently, but carefully, and cook until tender. It takes about 1 hour.
    Put sugar in as soon as you put potatoes in.
    Also add cinnamon (just sprinkle about 2 teaspoons).
    Turn carefully or they will come apart.
