Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. onions
    10 green peppers
    6 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    4 c. cider vinegar
    1 medium head cabbage
    6 sweet red peppers
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Grind all vegetables (coarse blade).
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt.
    Let stand for 8 to 12 hours.
    Rinse and drain.
    Squeeze excess water.
    Combine sugar, celery seed, mustard seed, turmeric and vinegar.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Bring to a boil.
    Simmer for 3 minutes.
    Seal in hot sterilized jars.
    Makes 8 pints.
