Cherry Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 egg whites
    2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. saltines
    3/4 to 1 c. walnuts
    Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until foamy, then add sugar, cream of tartar and vanilla.
    Beat until it forms stiff peaks.
    By hand, stir in saltines (crushed) and walnuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. When cool, spread with a large container of Cool Whip.
    Top with a can of cherry pie filling.
    Use 9 x 13-inch pan.
