Old-Fashioned Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. beef or ham bones with meat
2 large carrots, chopped
28 oz. tomatoes, undrained
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. whole basil
1/2 tsp. whole marjoram
1 c. frozen corn
1/2 c. macaroni
8 c. water
3 stalks celery, chopped
2 medium onions, chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. whole thyme
2 c. frozen lima beans
1 c. frozen peas
Preparation

Combine all ingredients except frozen vegetables and macaroni in a large Dutch oven.
Bring to boil; cover.
Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
Add frozen vegetables and return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
Stir in macaroni and continue to cook for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove bay leaf.
Makes 3 1/2 quarts.
