Berliner Ragout - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. cubed stewing beef
    olive oil
    2 large green peppers, chopped
    1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    2 to 3 cloves minced garlic (optional)
    5 medium onions, sliced
    1 1/2 lb. fresh tomatoes, seeded and chopped
    1/2 c. chopped parsley
    A.1. sauce to taste
    cognac to taste
Preparation
    Brown beef in a little oil.
    Add onions, garlic, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and parsley.
    Simmer until almost complete. Add A.1. sauce and the cognac and cook for 1 minute.
    Goes very well with fried potatoes.
    Serves 6.
