Bavarian Prune Plum Dumplings - cooking recipe

12 fresh prune plums
12 cubes sugar
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
8 oz. dry cured cottage cheese
1 Tbsp. melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. butter
1 to 2 Tbsp. starch
Preparation

Slit and pit plums.
Place a cube of sugar in center of each plum.
Combine flour, cottage cheese, melted butter, eggs, salt and starch.
Beat until smooth.
Chill dough 1 hour.
Divide dough into 12 portions and wrap around each plum, sealing well.
Cook covered in boiling water for 10 minutes.
Drain.
Pour melted butter over dumplings or sour cream, if you like it.
Serve hot with roast pork, beef or pot roast.
