Meringue Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. walnuts
    dash of salt
    2 stiffly beaten egg whites
    1/2 c. oleo
Preparation
    Toast nuts in oven until light brown.
    Beat egg whites.
    Beat in sugar and salt until stiff.
    Fold nuts into meringue.
    Melt butter in cookie pan and spread nuts over butter.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for approximately 40 minutes.
    Stir every 10 minutes or until nuts are coated with browned covering and no butter remains in pan. Cool on paper towels.
    Great for gift giving.
