Hot Dogs On A Stick - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour (plain)
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    dash of pepper
    2/3 c. corn meal
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg
    2/3 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
    1 pkg. wieners
Preparation
    Sift first 6 ingredients in a bowl.
    Mix in corn meal.
    Cut in shortening.
    Mix together egg (slightly beaten), milk and Tabasco sauce.
    Add egg mixture to dry ingredients and mix well.
    Coat evenly each wiener with batter.
    Fry in deep fat until golden brown.
    Drain and insert wooden skewer into one end of each wiener.
